Happy solstice! ❄️We’ve been doing some playschool ideas recently from @the_little_oak_learning and today we made a winter solstice spiral. Really fun to make and learn about a spiral walk. ❤️

Halloween is gonna be weird this year. But at least Halloween is a holiday that is supposed to be weird right!? We went pumpkin picking a couple weeks ago and it got me thinking about Halloween and waste and wasting less. So on the blog some ideas for a Zero Waste Halloween. 🎃 👻 🕷 LINK IN BOO I MEAN BIO

In celebrating Halloween this year, I’m challenging myself to go low(er) waste. From costumes to decor – let’s get creative for a zero waste Halloween and plastic-free Halloween treats! These tips are not meant to make us feel guilty, but a reminder for myself of ways we can be kinder to our planet. And ask myself questions like do I really need that crocheted 🧶 looking pumpkin on a Target endcap? Or could I support my local farms and get a few tiny pumpkins to play with that are compostable later. 🙏

A year ago, we were coming back from Scandinavia with our almost two year old. This trip feels like a lifetime ago now. And every time I see pics I can’t help but think of how different things are right now. “Don’t touch anything!” 😭 🦠 On the blog, I shared more about our Scandinavia trip. And yeah I know we’re not traveling right now but tuck it away for future trip planning!

I cover our itinerary and trip cost for 18 days in Copenhagen, Norway (Bergen, fjords, Oslo), and Stockholm. Scandinavia is probably the most family friendly place I’ve been. In a cool legit way. Families exist! Make life fun! Take care of them! Yes, please. And can we talk about their parks and playgrounds!? 🥇💕

The progression of balance biking is such a fun th

The progression of balance biking is such a fun thing to watch. Ok and let’s be real, it’s also excruciatingly slow when they’re starting out. 🐢🚲🤣

New on the blog, tips for teaching your toddler how to ride a balance bike. TL;DR chill out, exposure to the bike but ZERO pressure. If you’re looking for more info than that, head to the blog for 13 more tips that helped us and my nieces.

We have an almost three year old on our hands. How can it be!? 😭 New post on the blog about gifts for three year olds and what’s on our list right now. At the top of our list? Magna Tiles (these ones are borrowed from a friend to get us through our 10 days of indoor life during wildfire smoke! Thanks friend!).

It’s so fun to see the combination of engineering and creativity at age 3. The last time he played with these was around 2 and that was more of just a “wow magnets!“🧲 stage. 😍

Fall leaf rainbow 🍁🌈 Out gathering beautiful leaves, climbing trees and looking at some downed branches and tree limbs.

New post on the blog about long distance grandparents and tips for helping your kiddo keep close with a grandparent who is long distance and grow their relationship from afar.

For us it’s the little things like sending pics and texts. But also some fun ideas of things the grandparents do like playing with trucks on FaceTime 🤣

Happy fall equinox! We took our first fall hike today << 🤣 After over a week indoors last week it was really nice to get back to one of our favorite little spots in Forest Park. The witches castle. I got to answer “why?” about 5 million times on our 2 mile hike and we collected tons of leaves 🍃🍂🍁and found some interesting critters. Don’t swipe past the bucket list pic 👉unless you want to see 🐌 and a 🍌 slug.

Stuck in the house for a week from wildfire smoke, we’re pretty thankful for all these books (and that we have a house still!). Keeping up with outdoor adventures by reading 😭 My toddler said “we’re indoor people now” the other day and I didn’t know if I should laugh or cry.

As the summer season comes to an end, and we’re praying for rain in the PNW, here are nine of our favorite books from this summer. LINK IN BIO
