REI Gear Up, Get Out November 2023 Sale: My Top Picks!

REI has some awesome sales several times throughout the year. I keep a running list of the latest REI 20% off coupons. But what are the best deals and things to buy during these semi-annual sales? Here are my top finds in the REI Gear Up – Get Out sale this November (otherwise known as the “Don’t Call It A Black Friday Sale” winter gear up sale), which runs Nov 10-20, 2023. Psst you can start shopping 12:01am PST!

REI November Sale: My Top Picks

1. REI Snow bibs – $139 All REI brand snow gear is 30% off. After 25 years using the same snow pants (yes, really!), I finally bought myself these new snow bibs last year for $119! And wow, has snow pant technically come a long way! Reg. $199
2. Nalgene water bottles – from $6.98 (50% off). I love my 16oz Nalgene for tossing in bags/backpacks and short car trips. The perfect size to bring water along but not have a 5 pound weight with you. :) Cute designs and 16oz. Reg price $14.
3. REI Co-op brand kids coats & accessories – fleece mittens! – $11.16 (30% off). These are hands down our favorite kids gloves. The are not snow gloves (we usually go Burton for those), but the perfect glove for fall-spring cold weather and to take to school and still be able to use their fingers. As mentioned in my kids winter gear post, these sales are a great time to get deals on down jackets, vests, and accessories! Reg price: $16. (Note on sizing: our 5 year old wears a size Large of these!)
4. The North Face ThermoBall Traction Mules kids slippers – $22. I bought these for my kiddo in camo print and then realized I could get myself a matching pair by ordering a kids size 6 (womens 7.5!). Reg. $50
5. Wild Rye MTB shorts – $66.50 (30% off). I have a previous seasons design of these mountain bike shorts. I love the darker patterns (for mountain biking and bikepacking too) as they don’t show as much dirt and are the perfect loose shorts to wear over liner shorts. Reg price $95.
6. Smartwool Socks – 25% off. These sales are the perfect time to stock up on a new pair of Smartwool socks before winter. 25% off for the whole family. And not just socks, also clothing and accessories. My go-tos are the hike and bike Smartwool socks, and the cushion mid-crew are the perfect sleep socks for camping! Next on my list is a pair of their snowboarding socks!
7. REI Camp Pillow – $13.96. All REI camp gear is on sale – tents, sleeping bags, pads etc. This year, I finally splurged on a camp-specific pillow. It’s nice to not waste so much car camping space with a stack of pillows from home. Reg. $19.95.
8. REI Co-op ebikes – $900+. At 40% off the e1.1 and e1.2 electric bikes are a great deal. Reg. $1499
9. Kahtoola Traction – $52. At 20% off, last season I finally got a pair of traction for winter/snow hiking and running. I tried the MICROspikes and NANOspikes before settling on the EXOspikes – the best fit for winter hiking and trail running on packed ice and snow when you’ll also be hitting some pavement or sidewalks along the way! Reg price $65.
10. Outdoor Research Flurry Sensor gloves – $30 (25% off). I’ve been looking for an in between type glove for fall and winter for when you need more than knit or biking type gloves but less than full ski snow gloves. I love the olive color for mens sizes too. I have the plum color of these! Reg. price: $40.
11. REI brand Merino base layers – $55.97 (30% off). I have a non-merino base layer from REI brand and it’s been good quality, so this merino one is def on my list! And I love the navy color. Reg price: $80.
12. Thule Roof box or bike rack – $640. I can vouch for the Thule XTR T2 Pro bike rack. I love that it doesn’t take two people (yes, it’s heavy, but doable!) and with the wheels easy to move. And the rails are large enough to fit a fat bike. 20% off Thule and yakima racks. Reg price $800.
13. KICKR trainer – 20% off. If you’re looking for a way to keep training on your bike in winter, this is a great options. Reg. $400
14. Garmin inreach mini 2 – At $100 off, this is a great time to snag a Garmin inReach, for staying safe on your adventures. Reg price. $400.
15. 30% off REI bags – Get 30% off REI Co-op brand bags from duffels to tote bags. I think this is the sale we’ll finally snag one of the thin duffels to organize some camp gear for easier packing. From $7.95.
