Every spring, REI has two great sales, first the Member Sale when your annual dividends come out and then the Anniversary Sale through Memorial Day weekend. I love this sale because it’s that extra chance to snag any camping and summer gear at a discount before the summer outdoor season really kicks off! I keep a running list of the latest REI 20% off coupons. But what are the best deals and things to buy during these semi-annual sales? Here are my top finds in the Anniversary sale this May (otherwise known as the Memorial Day summer gear up sale), which runs May 20-30, 2022.
REI Anniversary Sale: My Top Picks

- Rumpl puffy blanket – $74 (25% off). If you’ve been wanting to try one of the uber popular Rumpl down blankets, a sale one is your best bet!
- Hydroflask 12oz coffee tumber – $22 (25% off). I’m still eeking away with the older version of these coffee travel mugs. love them for tossing in a bag on the go!
- REI Bandana – $5 (30% off). Super cute prints for bandanas. Great for backpacking and summer adventures.
- REI Coop Sun Shirts – $24 (30% off). All REI brand clothing is 30% off. So this is a great time to scoop up summer or off-season essentials – like kids and grownup sun shirts, raincoats, puffs etc.
- Smartwool Socks – 25% off. These sales a great time to snag a new pair of Smartwool socks. 25% off for the whole family.
- ENO Doublenest Hammock – $63 (25% off). The best camping hammock out there. One of my favorite camping essentials for fun! And great for camping with toddlers and babies (hello nap station!)
- Garmin Forerunner 745 GPS watch – $350 (30% off). If you’re in the market for a GPS running watch, the REI sales are the time to snag one! Not all of the Garmin watches are on sale, but quite a few!
- Buff Headwear – $20 (25% off). One of my year-round PNW essentials. Great for under-helmets for biking and also one of our must-have winter gear items for kids.
- REI brand Merino base layers – $55.97 (30% off). I have a non-merino base layer from REI brand and it’s been good quality, so this merino one is def on my list! And I love this Mystic Geo Sea Olive print. Reg price: $80.
- Co-op Cycles DRT 2.1 mountain bike – $1359 (15% off). REI’s house brand is making some seriously nice bikes these days. I’ve had my eye on some of their mountain bikes. Also REI kids bikes are on sale.
- Eureka Ignite 2-Burner Camp Stove – $86 (25% off). This one has been on my list for upping my car camping game from the Coleman single bottle-screw top burner. Faaancy! And the color is so good!
The REI sales are a great opportunity to save some money on checking off any items you need off your family camping checklist.
